Mike and Vereva On The Ferry

I met Vereva from Germany the week before on the bus but I hung in Tongariro while she went on to Wellington. I found her asleep in a chair on the boat. I platzed down next to her until she woke up and gave me a big sleepy smile. The thinnest German I've ever met. I think she weighs 80-pounds. I fed her chocolate muffins until she got some color in her face. But it didn't hold.
The South Island; Finally!

I did the Tongaroro Alpine crossing. It was like day 2 on the Inca Trail in Peru except here it was freezing, wet and the wind was clocked at 35 mph on the topside crater. The park pulled all camping permits so I was forced off the trail and back into the hostel. Which is good cause I was beat to shit. I ate 3,000 cals up there and still dropped weight.
