Sydney, final edition January 16th 2016 We were returning to Sydney one last time to fly onwards from there. We flew back from Cairns on another Virgin plane and the flight path took us out over the Barrier Reef. It was lovely to see it from the air. The plane took off at 11.25 am and the flight took about 3 hours to cover the 1500 miles or so of the journey that we had taken about a month to travel in the opposite direction.

In 2015 we took ourselves off on a long-anticipated six month trip around the world. It was a once in a lifetime trip to mark our retirement and fulfil the 'gap year' we never had in our youth.
