After a rolly night at anchor caused by the procession of northbound tows, we said goodbye to the Mississippi and entered the Ohio River. The first ten miles is highly industrial with barges lining the shores and tows criss-crossing the river making for choppy water with floating logs and sticks. Our 32 foot Cape Island trawler, North Star, will be our summer cruiser in Canada and our 44 foot Marine Trader, Hemingway, is our warm climate cruiser, presently in Florida.
