A long day today, we travelled 117 miles and no locks. It was too hot to stop and we wanted to get to the confluence of the Ohio River to get set up for the two problematic locks on the Ohio. We have 835 miles behind us in 11 days. We are anchored at Angelo Towhead at Cairo Illinois where the Mississippi meets the Ohio River. We are newly retired and ready to cruise! Our 32 foot Cape Island trawler, North Star, will be our summer cruiser in Canada and our 44 foot Marine Trader, Hemingway, is our warm climate cruiser, presently in Florida.
