The name may not ring any bells but many people may have seen documentaries on Mt Ijen on TV. This active volcano is mined for its sulphur. Day in day out miners trek deep in the crater amongst the towering noxious fumes. Like most visitors to the volcano we ventured inside it at night to get a view of the hypnotic blue flames. We are so lucky!
So many miners have such horrible conditions, except for the push-button miners in our countries. It's one thing to see the conditions in a documentary or to read about it, but quite another to see their back-breaking work and smell the overpowering sulfur, knowing their receive so little for their shortened lives. Thanks for the hard reporting!

we are soo lucky!
It makes me embarrassed to be from a developed country not really knowing much about the conditions people work in to make certain products. Something we need to look into more.
