A True Adventurer!
So, following the path into the (almost) unknown of Patagonian naturalist Alexander von Humboldt, eh? That river crossing sounds so cold, the bushwacking, as always, rather tricky, and that descent to the beach pretty difficult with those full packs, but what a great experience! How great for you all and Hector and Orive to have each other for company--what incredible lives those two lead. I've read the Yamana covered their skin with a thick layer of fat and toasted it on by a fire. I guess since they didn't have gore-tex, anything else would have been wet and stayed wet, but like you, I can't imagine it. What a wild-open, perfect break from your "cozy" life on the ship. Well-done!
