Hi All, About an hour or so just outside of Shenzhen is Dapeng. Just outside the new town there is an old fortress which was a site of a battle in The Opium Wars against The British. It was very quaint and pretty walking around this old walled town, and also free of charge. There were quite a few tourists but not too many to feel cramped.
