Baby Sloth - only 4-6 years old - they live to up to 40 years.

The wild jungle, ""often uncomfortable, but always beautiful."
What a great adventure you've painted with your magic words. Great photos, but really it's your amazing writing that brings this all alive; the tiny owl monkeys "huge eyes peeping worriedly beneath white brows"--I recognized the photo immediately. You're right Tara, it was hugely expensive, but a snip compared to some of the others I could find, and it was so worth it. Blew a huge whole in our budget though - there will be a blog soon about the 'poor man's Galapagos' as we couldn't afford the real thing - hopefully, that's for another trip. And holding that sloth was worth a million dollars!!!
