The Catch

The only fish worth noting from our first fishing trip. This shovel-nose ray/shark put up quite a fight. It took Frank about ten minutes to reel it in and then I had to grab it by the tail to drag it into the boat. Lucky they don't have teeth. We had some of it for dinner that evening. The rest is in the freezer for future meals.

Our plans for the day of collecting bait and then fishing came to fruition today. Getting caught in a torrential downpour wasn't part of the plan, but that happened too. After breakfast we went down to the inlet to pump for yabbies. It is a joint effort. Frank does all the strenuous work and I hold the bucket.
