C'est a Sarnath que le Bouddha fit son premier sermon apres avoir recu l'illumination a Bodhgaya.

Benares est tres sympa, assez clean par rapport au Rajasthan et Delhi ! Dommage que nous y soyons restes seulement 2 jours, bonne ambiance, gens sympas, avons ete invites a assiste a une cremation. Sarnath est tres interessante a visiter, surtout le musee avec des pieces tres anciennes, notamment le pilier d'Ashoka datant du 3eme siecle avant JC.
