ANZAC Cove

This thin strip of beach and a cemetery memorial are all that is left of the place where thousands of Aussie and Kiwi troops were trapped for 8 months. Parking lots and roadways have destroyed the rest of the site.

The remains of dinner littered the white linen tablecloth. Mackerel skeletons, cherry pits, Blackberry stains, crusty bits of bread, glasses filmed with the musty dregs of strong, red, homemade wine and empty bowls spooned clean of Aunt Hatice's rice pudding.
