Photos from the Canar Market August 23rd 2013 Canar is the homeland of the Canari people. They date back to before the Inca people and, obviously outlasted them. We suspect that Canar is 97+% Canari. and the rest are mestizo. Traditional dress, especially on market day is predominant as is the Canari language. We are a non working (retired sounds so boring)couple, in our early 70's, married for 50 years this coming August 2014 and hooked on adventuring. We have traveled a great deal of the world from Europe (east and west) to Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Mexico and Central America. We lived for extended periods of time in Ethiopia, The Czech Republic, Mexico and Scotland. As you can see, we have a lot more exploring, adventuring and learning to do.
