Welsh Cave, Puerto Madryn

These caves were excavated and used as shelter by the first Welsh settlers to arrive in Argentina. They were eventually assisted and helped to survive by the native Telhuelche.

1st April 2013, we are now in Puerto Madryn, coastal Patagonia. It took 9 hours by bus from Bahia Blanca passing nothing but endless flat grazing land, this country truly is vast.
