The Kauri Museum

Yesterday we traveled across the north island to the Kauri Museum. It is a museum dedicated to the giant kauri tree. These old giants, many who were thousands of years old were harvested for ship building, furniture. The few that are left are protected. The wood is extemely beautiful and very hard.
