My retirement started in style with a visit to the Loire Valley. We stayed in Saumur overlooking the River Loire and the chateau. Very picturesque and quiet. Visited some troglodyte dwellings nearby and it was very interesting to see how the inhabitants who were farming people had lived in the previous century.
