Naughty Spanish nearly wiped this out

The high altitude Azorella Compacta plant contains flammable resin that the Spanish conquerors harvested up PDQ to power their boats and trains. They came back a while later to get some more but were disapointed as it only grows 1mm a year.

I've been in Peru for a week now and there is so much to tell, be warned this going to a long one.
