Red Leaves on Tree

Because Olana is on higher ground than the surrounding area (except for the Catskills across the Hudson River, of course), fall comes a little earlier.

Olana State Historic Site was founded by the 19th century Hudson River School painter, Frederick Church. The State of New York has recently dredged the pond that Church built and thinned out the vegetation, making it look more like the way Church designed the estate.
