Nearly to the top

The peak kept coming in and out of view as the clouds passed by. I only knew it was the summit because I could see a little flag on the top of it. Otherwise, I was just climbing blindly.

Of all the things that my mother has 'instructed' me to do over the years, such as 'brush your teeth' 'comb your hair' 'wear a bicycle helmet', the one that reminded me of her today was the instruction 'don't go hiking alone'.
