Of Caves and Goodbyes
October 29th 2006 I'm back in Moscow now. So now I have more time to write about the Lavra. The Lavra is absolutely incredible. It started as a recluse for Monks 1,000 years ago. They lived in caves, trying to live as simple a life as possible. Gradually the caves expanded and became underground churches. Now most of the caves are open for vistors and house the bodies of many Ukrainian Saints.
