I have now been back at St Dorcas for a week. Last week was the first week of school break so they where all revising, getting ready for their exams in a couple of weeks time. Welcome to my blog about my upcoming adventure to Kenya. I will be spending 3 to 6 mths in Nairobi. During this time I will be volunteering at St.Dorcas Children's home in the Kawangware slum. St Dorcas looks after about 125 children ranging from 3 to 16 years old. 75 of them stay at the orphanage and another 50 come each day for schooling. They are a mix of street children, suffering from HIV/AIDS or abandoned from broken marriages. I hope you get as much out of reading this blog as I hope to get out of this opportunity.
