Watamu, Gede and Lamu August 8th 2011 On Tuesday 26th July I headed off to Watamu for 2 weeks voluntary work on the coast. Welcome to my blog about my upcoming adventure to Kenya. I will be spending 3 to 6 mths in Nairobi. During this time I will be volunteering at St.Dorcas Children's home in the Kawangware slum. St Dorcas looks after about 125 children ranging from 3 to 16 years old. 75 of them stay at the orphanage and another 50 come each day for schooling. They are a mix of street children, suffering from HIV/AIDS or abandoned from broken marriages.
