On Thursday 19th July Nic and I were up at 5:30am to get ready to be picked up at 6:30am for our 3 day trip to the Masai Mara. We were picked in a massive 4X4 by our guide for the 3 days John. Welcome to my blog about my upcoming adventure to Kenya. I will be spending 3 to 6 mths in Nairobi. During this time I will be volunteering at St.Dorcas Children's home in the Kawangware slum. St Dorcas looks after about 125 children ranging from 3 to 16 years old. 75 of them stay at the orphanage and another 50 come each day for schooling. They are a mix of street children, suffering from HIV/AIDS or abandoned from broken marriages. I hope you get as much out of reading this blog as I hope to get out of this opportunity.
