Laura was assigned as a secretary to the U.S. delegation in San Francisco negotiating the creation of the United Nations. She typed the UN Charter. I have her certificate of appreciation signed by Alger Hiss who was later accused by Senator Nixon of being communist.

My parents took another two year furlough, living in Nyack again from the summer of 1980 to the summer of 1982.
