On Thursday I got invite to the Rangers Restaurant , which is just inside the Nairobi National Park in Langatta, for lunch at 2:30pm by a friend of mine Allen. As it was across town the only way to get there was to get a Matatu into town, walk to the other side of town down Moi Ave to the train station and then get a matatu right to the gate of the park and make sure I get home before dark. Welcome to my blog about my upcoming adventure to Kenya. I will be spending 3 to 6 mths in Nairobi. During this time I will be volunteering at St.Dorcas Children's home in the Kawangware slum. St Dorcas looks after about 125 children ranging from 3 to 16 years old. 75 of them stay at the orphanage and another 50 come each day for schooling. They are a mix of street children, suffering from HIV/AIDS or abandoned from broken marriages. I hope you get as much out of reading this blog as I hope to get out of this opportunity.
