Koh Jum got hit by the 2004 Boxing day tsunami. The islands in front, Koh Phi Phi took the hardest hit so Koh Jum didn't get completely destroyed. The islanders sensed something was going on and got to high ground before it hit, so no one died. Deelah stayed at the bungalows and climbed a tree because she wanted to see what was happening. Only the first couple bungalows got washed out and the front of her restaurant. The weather we are having now is scaring a lot of the islanders because it isn't normal, so they think something weird is going to happen possibly.
