Travels in Poland (Krakow)
November 2nd 2010 Krakow is the second largest city in Poland and also one of the oldest. It was the capital for over five hundred years from the 11th century to the 16th century. In 1596, the Bubonic Plague killed 20,000 of its people. Today, Krakow is a major national academic and artistic center. Unlike Warsaw, this city wasn't destroyed during WWII so the buildings from that era and before are still standing.
