This ferry is operated by the city, so our bus and train ticket allowed us to get on board and take a scenic cruise!

Today I got to see the city of Hamburg, in northern Germany. It is a LOT like my hometown of Seattle. Hamburg was a "free" city for many years, which means it was not controlled by any king or government. It was a member of the Hanseatic League, with many other European port cities that traded freely with each other. They are still very proud of this today.
