Point Reyes Lighthouse

For decades this lighthouse protected passing ships. It was built way down the cliff (the stairs equaled 30 stories in height!) so the light beam would go out to sea BELOW THE FOG. The lighthouse keeper had to haul supplies down there on a little track by the then wooden steps.
