Perhaps a Good Thing That it was Closed

Even though our Scottish Explorer Passes would've given us entrance inside, there really wasn't that much more to see that we hadn't already experienced up the road in Melrose. Considering the traffic mess we encountered later that day, a delay of another hour or so in Jedburgh could've been a real problem. Driving on iced roads with treadless tires might not have gone well.
Day Eight - Heading South of the Border

Another day with an early start. This would be the longest drive of the trip so far and we needed to make a number of stops along the way yet still arrive at our destination before the New Year's revelers got out in full force.
