Shortly after knocking my fan over and successfully shattering 2 of the three blades making it pretty much useless. Hilarious at the time, but after spending a week in the room without a fan it didn't smell too fresh!

Vientiane as a capital city is amazingly quiet, especially after coming from the chaos that is Hanoi. There is hardly any traffic, the Tuk Tuk drivers take no for an answer the first time you say it and there are hardly any street vendors and beggars tugging at your shirt every 5 minutes.
