Day one, Istanbul, It’s the evening now, I’m sitting on my bed in my 3 star un-air-conditioned tiny room. The remote is missing. Not under the beds, and not behind the wardrobe where I did find someone’s knickers and an empty condom packet. All the chemist stores advertise Viagra and Calais in their front windows.
