Pompeii Roads

The better-preserved roads are very flat and extremely well-built. The raised stones were due to the lack of a sewage system in Pompeii. In other words, think cross-walk.

I'm really glad I made the snap decision to take an excursion south. The tour is basing out of a campsite in Sorrento (Camping Santa Fortuna).
