February 8th 2010 Jaisalmer(@320m) is right in the heart of the Thar Desert, with a fort built with yellowish sandstones on top of the Trikuta hill, its tone earned the name Soner Qila, the Golden Fort. Unlike the fort in Jodhpur, here people still lived inside the fort together with the palace.
