No class today because of the Dalai Lama’s 71st birthday party. People come to the main temple from all over and there’s singing, dancing, food, and tea. The place is packed and it's hard to get close to the performers. The Dalai Lama can’t attend though; the poor guy is sick and exhausted, having already given hundreds of hours of talks and teachings on three continents this
