We took the overnight train that left Bangkok station at 19.30 for Surat Thani. This was pretty good in the end, but when we arrived we saw some rubbish trains (without windows etc) and were worried we were going to have to endure an eleven hour journey being bitten by mosquitoes in a smelly train.
