My NY's Eve in Savannakhet, Laos

When I traveled in Savannakhet in January 2009, I met a Vietnamese family in the town and they invited me to the Vietnamese lunar new year party. The two boys wearing red T-shirts are Vietnamese. They were born in Laos and can speak Vietnamese. The girl is a Laotian and now she lives in the US. She is a friend of this Vietnamese family and was invited to the party.
The people I met when traveling

A trip may be ruined or not, it depends much on how we deal with the people we meet. While I don't deny that I too was hassled by persistent touts and beggars, or overcharged by hotels, travel agents and local drivers, and hurt by some westerners who judged me based on my nationality and said rude words to me, I still can say that 90% of the people I've met when traveling are great ones.
