The Monument to the Ghetto Heroes

The term "ghetto" refers to the Jewish District sealed off from 1939-1945. This monument is carved from stone and was originally intended for a third reich victory monument. On the west side of the monument, there is a sculpture 'The Struggle' symbolizing fighting ghetto insurgents. On the east side is the sculpture 'the Road towards Extermination' featuring Jewish families being sent off to concentration camps.
