Milk Bar

Milk Bars are very unique to Poland and so great that they still exist from the days of communism. They are government subsidized cafeteria style restaurants wıth not only daıry products but other tradıtıonal dıshes lıke hearty soups, pıerogıes, salats and schabowy (pork chops). ıt ıs incredibly cheap making a good option for those that couldn't afford otherwise and also broke backpackers like us! unfortunately for us, the menu was all ın polısh and the grumpy ladies ın hairnets didn't speak english and were not amused wıth our lack of polish. ı ordered a zupa (soup) thinking ıt mıght be vegetarıan but couldn't eat ıt b/c ı am pretty sure there was chıcken ın ıt. we also ate mashed potatoes, yum!
