Here is the center 1/3 of the main mural in the National Palace. If you can find the eagle on the cactus towards the center right, you´ll notice that instead of a snake in it´s mouth there is burning water. This was a symbolic of how serious the situation was for the indigenous people because to them burning water signified something only a god could conceive.
