We decided to stay in Rainbow Beach because that was the town we were going to be picked up in for our tour of Fraser Island. It was a rainy evening but that didn't stop us from going to the beach. Rainbow Beach was given that name because of it's colourful sands. There is an aboriginal legend of the rainbow serpent.
