Da Lat ist ein kleines vietnamesisches Städtchen in den Bergen von Zentralvietnam. Das Klima dort ist das ganze Jahr über frühlingshafte 20-25 Grad. Der erste Europäer, der Da Lat entdeckt hatte, war Dr. Alexandre Yersin im Jahre 1893. Die Franzosen fühlten sich schnell heimisch dort, denn es erinnert sehr an die Landschaft in der Bretagne.
