Our journey began with a 3 hour flight to Auckland for a 2 hour stop over before we embarked on our long haul of 11 hours to San Francisco. We amused ourselves with reading, playing the airplanes games console and watching movies. South America here we come!!!

Hi all and welcome to the travel blog for Hayley and Simon's 3 month trip to South America from February to May 2009. We are both from Brisbane, Australia.This will be our first trip together and the first overseas trip for both of us in many years. We are starting off with a week in San Francisco and then moving down to Salvador for Carnival.
