Igreja de Sao Francisco de Assis

Die wohl schoenste Kirche der Stadt: Igreja de Sao Francisco de Assis. Das erste Werk von "Aleijadinho", das Krueppelchen. Ein Bildhauer, der nach einer schweren Lepraerkrankung alle Finger und Zehen verlor. Trotzdem staffierte er zahlreiche Kirchen mit Kunsterken und Fassaden aus. Alles mit Hilfe eines Sklaven und an den Armen angebundenen Werkzeugen.
