Santa Run

I signed us up for this, and THEN I remembered that we didn't actually know anyone (and the idea was to get pledges and raise funds). However, with the generous help of the Rotary (Phillip's sponsor here) and the president and his wife (who have been "looking out for us" since we arrived) we did raise a nice donation. SIX HUNDRED santas participated. I am not sure of their total funds yet, but last year they raised 10's of thousands of pounds, and they do really great work, allowing families of terminally ill children a chance to live together (while the sick child still receives care)--heartbreaking, completely, but thank God for charities like this.

I didn't actually mean to abandon this site...you know how the holidays are and then, well, it's hard to get started again. I have two new entries--our Christmas here, and our New Years' trip to Italy. I am not sure how long it will take me to get them up but I will at least try!
