A mum and baby...the animals that named the island

Today we went to Rottnest Island. The name came from a captain who discovered the island. Once landed he thought it was infested with big rats and named it "rat nest island". They aren't rats but "Quokka's", they look like mini kangaroo's! We caught the bus round as it's quite big and we could hop on and off as much as liked. The beaches are all pituresque. Chris and Emma will be leaving the UK on the 17th November. Our first stop will be Hong Kong,then we are flying down to Oz. We are starting in Perth, flying to Alice Springs, Ayers Rock etc, spending Christmas and New Year in Adelaide with Chris Aunt and Uncle. We then travel around the coast up to Sydney. From there we fly over to New Zealand for 6 weeks. We then go back into Sydney to finish up the coast.
