Gyantse Monastery

Unfortunately Gyantse Monastery is not what it used to be. The magnificent walls that surround the Kumbum (100,000 images of Buddha) in the Palcho Temple were mostly destroyed in 1959 during the Chinese cultural revolution. We weren't even allowed to go and visit the ruins.
