We had been on the ferry for about 90 minutes when Koh Phangan appeared on the horizon green and mountainous. We soon found our driver Mr Wat and were loaded onto the back of his 4X4 for the 30 minute trip across the island from coast to coast through the jungle and over the highlands in between.
