Sitting here in dingy Greymouth. It reminds me a bit of Tipton- hmm has some waterways but thats about all. Not much going on. However its a stop off for the transalpine train and thats what Ive been doing today. Last couple of days have been pretty active. Oh no! Serious jetlag! Hence sitting looking VERY rough at a hostel internet terminal at Venice Beach, LA, at 5am while my roommates try to out-snore one another.Following much exhausting clucking and arm-flapping ( to no avail) I have learned lesson 1- don't try to discuss the current world situation of bird-flu if language differences preclude even swapping the most general niceties- it aint gonna happen!!
