After some hiking in the Diamantina Canyon I went on to Salvador. It is a beatiful city thanks to its colonial architecture, but pretty unsafe. Next stop was Minas Gerais, a state in the interior of Brazil. There I went to see Ouro Preto, the most important gold mining town back in the days.
