There was a tour group just behind us on the path and aside from being duly impressed with the cuteness of our kids, they were blown away by their butterfly knowledge. Did you know that if a baby ate as much, proportionately, as a caterpillar he would be as big as a truck after a month? Also, that butterflies’ main purpose in nature is to be food for other animals? That’s right – although they do sometimes pollinate flowers, they don’t do it very often or as well or as effectively as bees.
